13 Weeks

How far along: 13 weeks
Maternity clothes: Needing to buy some work clothes as my choices are getting limited, especially with the pants.
Best moment this week: Seeing our baby twice! The first time was at our Maternal Fetal Medicine visit. I had to meet with them for genetic screening, I'll be considered "advanced maternal age" at delivery (only by 2 weeks!), and since we went through infertility treatments (there is a slightly increased risk of heart defects). The second time was at my OB visit the following day. My OB couldn't pick up baby's heartbeat with the doppler, so they did a quick scan. Everything looked good. Baby's heart rate was nice and fast at 160. My B/P was great too, 90/60 (which is my norm).
Food craving/aversions: Salty it is! While I will eat some sweets (especially with all of the birthdays at work lately), they don't taste the same to me. I love spicy foods, but I'm very sensitive to the strength of the hotness...mild seems like medium or even hot to me.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling our baby move/kick. I think I've been feeling some movements although it's been very sporadic.
Symptoms: Just tired. And feeling very itchy. I think the itchiness is related to my stretching skin, hormones, and the dry and cooler air of fall.

12 Weeks

How far along: 12 weeks
Maternity clothes: Starting to wear the jeans and pants from my pregnancy with Evan. My bigger work pants are becoming too tight!
Best moment this week: Stopping the Prometrium (progesterone)!--which is also a milestone!
Food craving/aversions: Still craving more of the salty foods right now. I've been loving bagels with a brown sugar cinnamon cream cheese (from Target) in the morning.
What I am looking forward to: I meet with the maternal fetal medicine physician on Monday. Excited to see our little peanut again! Just hoping he/she is healthy and still doing well. Also have my first official appointment with our OB on Tuesday.
Milestones: Last week of the 1st trimester...and stopping the Prometrium!
Symptoms: Still feeling tired. Getting up 1-3 times per night to pee. Not noticing any nausea.

11 Weeks

How far along: 11 weeks
Maternity clothes:
I just bought some maternity skinny jeans with the belly panel, and I love them...so comfy! I won't be able to wear a lot from my pregnancy with Evan since I'm pregnant during opposite seasons.
Best moment this week: Seeing a healthy (and active) little jelly bean bouncing around when I had my ultrasound done at the ER (everything is good, just had some horrible abdominal pain).
Food craving/aversions: I feel more picky about what I have a taste for, but nothing in particular. Every day seems different. Tend to lean towards more salty than sweet stuff (although I'd never turn down a cupcake!).
What I miss: Not one thing!!!
What I am looking forward to: My upcoming appointments during the first week of November. Get to see our baby again!
Milestones: Graduating from our fertility doctor to our OB, and getting to hear our baby's heartbeat with the doppler.
Symptoms: Still very tired, especially in the afternoon and again around 8pm. Still going to bed earlier than I did pre-pregnancy. Still having very mild (and short) waves of nausea but that's becoming less frequent. Boobs still tender off/on. Overall, I feel great and I can't complain!

Our family is growing!

I've neglected this board long enough, and I come with good news! I'm so very happy to announce I'm pregnant! Our sweet little miracle is due in Spring 2013, and we couldn't be happier. I honestly never thought we'd make it to this point. It's been quite a journey to get here! Evan is excited to be a big brother. It's so cute to hear him talk to my belly, talk about toys he's going to share with his sibling, etc. We feel so blessed!

I'm a slacker

It's been 4 months since my last post ::runs to the corner in embarrassment:: I'm finally done with grad school and am a nurse practitioner--YAY!!!  I've been enjoying the past month of family time and relaxation.  Hopefully, when I'm done with boards I will be on here more (although I will be working full-time by then).

Evan is growing up way too fast for me!  He starts his second year of his preschool program (will have 2 more years after this year because of his October birthday) next Tuesday.  He is all boy...loves tractors, trains, mowing the lawn with Daddy on the John Deere, playing outside...such an active little man!

Here are a few pics from the summer:

Hi!

Not sure who still reads this, but I apologize for not following through with my New Year's resolution.  Life has been busy chasing around our 2-year-old, preparing our house to go back on the market, and finishing up grad school.

Here is the latest pic of Evan:

New pediatrician, Stats

We were sad to leave Dr. B; however, we had no choice with our insurance.  We are very happy with Dr. M though!  She used to be my pediatrician when we first moved to Indiana when I was in junior high.  We love her!  She is very thorough, informative, and kind.  Evan hasn't been too thrilled with going to the doctor lately.  Let's just say he was worked up so much that he puked!  And the poor little guy didn't even get shots this visit.

Our 2 1/2 year visit was a little early as we wanted him to get established in the new practice in case he were to get sick (and he did end up having an ear infection this visit!)

Our "little" guy is growing!

Height:  37.25 inches (90%) --up about 3 inches since October!
Weight:  31 lbs 10 oz (80%)
